Well, they had to send the drive to the Netherlands for "recovery" and I received notification that the recovery was a success. I thought, no problem, I bought the protection/recovery/replacement plan. I was sitting there trying to back up content to it when it just beeped and never worked again. Within a month of owning this drive it crashed for ABSOLUTELY no reason. I was worried about getting such a large capacity and I wish I'd listened to my instincts. I hope to get a good 2-3 years out of it.

I'll update this review when the device fails. My laptop charges phones very slowly, so I'll plug my phone into my external HD to charge and it works better. You can also use the external HD to charge anything that charges by USB. If there is any noise, my laptop is louder so I don't notice or hear it. It's pretty quiet and I don't notice any noise. I use it exclusively for media and have no problem playing media files from the drive.
The files saved on it, I am able to access and play no problems so far. out of the 5.5tb I have 1.5 tb remaining. I don't know where the other 500 gb went, but it's not there. My one gripe with this device is that it's labelled as 6tb while in reality it's only 5.5tb. Shipping was fast and I received it shortly after. I ordered this just before December 2019.
